About the Position This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

What you will do

• Provide direct patient care, consultative guidance and education to patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers in the most challenging end-of-life circumstances for inpatients and outpatient who have a terminal illness or injury.
• Perform a wide range of medical duties covering consultation for the ICU, Internal Medicine, general and subspecialty surgical services.
• Examine patients, recommends and evaluates the full range of radiology and laboratory tests, make diagnosis Prescribe appropriate treatments to include intra-thecal, oral, topical, rectal and intravenous medications as well as nursing care, and therapeutic dietary interventions Refer to appropriate specialty consultant only when required for evaluation and/or treatment.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing. Position is designated as Mission Essential.

The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
