About the Position: This position is at Fort Richardson, Alaska. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

What you will do

• Utliize automated database systems to enter and update cases during the Physical Disability Evaluation System process.
• Coordinate evaluation appointments and pertinent details with soldiers and clinics.
• Counsel those being processed through the Physical Disability Evaluation System (PDES) on their rights, benefits, privileges, and obligations.
• Refer personnel to appropriate agencies to receive counseling and guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Explain and prepare Continuance On Active Duty, Continuance On Active Reserve Status, and extensions to active duty or Active Guard Reserve requests.
• Brief hospital support staff and installation leadership on the Physical Disability Evaluation System process.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
