Cookie policy

Every cookie this site sets, what it is for, and how to switch off the ones that are optional.

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Cookies are small files a site asks your browser to keep. This site uses few of them, all first-party — set by govhealthjobs.com and readable only by govhealthjobs.com. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party ad pixels, no social media trackers, and nothing that follows you to another site.

Your choice

Essential cookies

These keep the site working. They cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in or leaving forms open to abuse, and they are never used to build a profile of you.

CookieWhat it doesHow long
govhealthjobs_sessionKeeps you signed in and remembers one-off messages, such as “your alert was saved”.2 hours, renewed while you browse
XSRF-TOKENProves a form was submitted from this site, which is what stops another site posting on your behalf.2 hours, renewed while you browse
remember_web_*Set only if you tick “remember me” when signing in, so you are not asked again on every visit.Up to 5 years
ghj_analyticsRecords the choice you made above. Essential precisely because it is what lets us stop asking.180 days

Analytics — optional, off until you say otherwise

If you turn analytics on, we count page views and measure engagement on the pages you visit: which page, how long it was on screen, how far down it you read, and which links were clicked. It is first-party and server-side — the figures are written by this application, not sent to Google Analytics or any other outside service, and nothing is sold or shared.

No extra cookie is set for this — measurement is tied to the session cookie you already have. Alongside the page and the engagement figures, a recorded view keeps your IP address, an approximate location derived from it (country, region, city), your network provider, and your browser and device type. That is personal data, and we treat it as such: rows are deleted automatically after 400 days, they are never sold or shared, we do not build a profile across other sites, we do not use any of it for advertising, and it is never combined with anything an employer holds about you.

Turning it off costs you nothing: every listing, search, filter, salary record, licensing table and guide behaves exactly the same. There is no part of this site that requires analytics to work.

What we count regardless

We record visits by automated crawlers — search engine bots, and AI assistants such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot — whether or not any human has consented. A crawler is not a person, it sets no cookies, it cannot answer a banner, and knowing which of our pages they read is how we know the site is being found at all. Nothing about a crawler visit is personal data.

Our servers also keep short-lived technical logs of requests, as any web server does. Those exist to keep the site up and secure, are kept briefly, and are not used for analytics.

Payments

Membership payments are handled by Stripe, on Stripe's own checkout pages. When you leave for checkout you are on Stripe's site under Stripe's own privacy terms, and any cookie set there is theirs, not ours. GovHealthJobs never sees your card details. Stripe sets no cookies on this site while you are browsing it.

Changing your mind

Use the switch at the top of this page at any time — there is a Cookie settings link in the footer of every page that brings you straight back here. You can also clear cookies in your browser, which resets the choice and means we will ask again on your next visit. Withdrawing consent is exactly as easy as giving it, by design.

Blocking cookies entirely in your browser will stop you signing in, because the sign-in cookie is one of them. Everything you can read without an account will still work.

Questions

The wider picture — what we collect, what we deliberately do not, and how to have it deleted — is in the privacy policy. If something here is unclear, write to sales@uniqevo.co.uk and we will answer.
