GovHealthJobs only indexes sources that are free and public, or that we have licensed outright. Where a source's terms forbid automated collection, we exclude it — permanently — and say so here rather than quietly leaving a gap in the map.
Where our listings come from
Every listing on this site arrives one of two ways. Either it comes from a source that publishes openly — an official government API, a public data release, an employer's own careers feed — or it comes through a licensed agreement that explicitly permits republishing. There is no third category.
Before a source is switched on we read its terms of use and its robots directives, record what they say, and file the decision against the source. That record is what you are reading: the same source list the team works from, published verbatim rather than summarised into marketing copy.
It costs us coverage. Some large aggregators would materially expand the number of state and local jobs listed here, and we do not touch them. We would rather show you an honest map with a hole in it than a fuller one built on terms we are not entitled to.
Applications are always made on the employer's own site — reached directly, or through the feed that published the posting. GovHealthJobs is an independent information service, not a government body, and it never takes an application on an employer's behalf.
