About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

What you will do

• Serve as a Supervisor, Network Management Section (NM) and Telephone and Voice Services Section (TVS) as the technical representative for developing the procedures, baselines, guidelines and network plans.
• Assist with the development of organizational procedures and provide guidance to section Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications team leads, staff, and users within the 30th Signal Battalion.
• Enforce procedures as they relate to the Battalion’s strategic and tactical architecture.
• Independently complete or assist others in planning project assignments related to telecommunications or network engineering actions.
• Incumbent requires routine and recurring access to classified Secret collateral information, materials, facilities, or systems.

Federal employees in Honolulu, Hawaii are currently entitled to receive a 8.64% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023.

This position required you to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DOW Publication 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, for each Cyber work role (excerpt Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level: 1) Foundation qualification within 9 months, 2) Residential qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).
