About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year-round including surfing, fishing, and hiking.

What you will do

  • You will serve as the work leader providing instructions to workers received from the supervisor and starts work (assigning tasks to be performed).
  • Lead workers in the planning, maintenance, installation, and repair of various types of air conditioning equipment, refrigeration systems, ventilation equipment, and air compressor units.
  • Work along with other workers, setting the pace, using proper work methods and procedures.
  • Answer questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
  • Monitor work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisors instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
  • Keep supervisor appraised on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
  • Perform maintenance on a variety of domestic and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) 29 - Installation Management Career Field (CF) position.

Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized. Student loan repayment may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Defense National Relocation Program (DNRP) will not be authorized. Further certification from this announcement may take place up to 90 days beyond the closing date of this announcement.
