About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is responsible for construction contracts under management which include Civil Works and Military Construction along with work for various other customers and agencies.

What you will do

• Implement the government Quality Assurance (QA) program.
• Perform Biddability/Constructability/Operability/Environmental reviews of proposed construction documents.
• Prepare data and reports to provide progress status to stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to resolve issues related to design and differing site conditions encountered during construction.
• Assure that safe working conditions and practices are maintained by consulting with District safety office.
• Provide technical advice as needed to other engineers.

Education

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. Student Loan Repayment MAY be authorized. Advanced in Hire MAY be authorized.

Relocation / Recruitment Incentive MAY be authorized. Advanced Leave Accrual MAY be authorized. Position(s) will be filled at the GS-11 or GS-12 grade level.

This is a full-time permanent developmental position. Selectee will be required to complete 52 weeks before being promoted to the next higher grade level. This position has promotion potential to the higher-grade GS-12 when requirements have been completed and when recommended by management.
