What you will do

• Prepares Current Working Estimates and Independent Government Estimates for Civil Works, Military Construction, and IIS projects.
• Prepares estimates for budget purposes and construction contract modifications.
• Performs cost estimating assignments from engineering sketches and rough quantities for dredging, beach re-nourishments, disposal areas, shore based stabilization, pumping stations, and similar projects for economic comparisons.
• Review cost data and estimates prepared by others for inconsistencies, extensions, errors, and omissions, and develop completed and final cost estimates.
• Reviews estimates completed by AE firms, and consults and coordinates with AE firms regarding any deficiencies and discrepancies.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

What to expect next

Eligible applicants will be referred to the hiring manager. The selecting official may choose to conduct interviews. Acknowledgement and Notice of Results letters will be sent by the hiring office.

This announcement uses the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
