THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1291000 and is part of the PA Combined Support Maintenance Shop East, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.

What you will do

• As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR, WS-5801-11, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
• Assign tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.
• Plan and establish overall leave schedules.
• Perform the non-supervisory work of the function, as needed, such as performing maintenance and/or inspection tasks on equipment, equipment operations, or other non-supervisory functions.
• Ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures established for the activity.
• Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e., retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8414(b)(1)(A) of title 5 United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate.
