The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees and military personnel assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing Security Management Division.

What you will do

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the 28th Bomb Wing, ensuring that the Security Management Division complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Represents 28th Bomb Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships MAJCOM A2 and subordinate intelligence and security offices, 28th Bomb Wing and 89th Attack Squadron unit security offices, Office of Special Investigations (OSI), various external government agencies.
  • Administers the Physical Security Program for the organization.
  • Uses comprehensive knowledge of the integrated organization's mission to advise commanders and or involved parties on security facilities/equipment/alarm installation, maintenance, and use.
  • Serves as security program specialist executing and enforcing compliance with operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated security program.

Education

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.

This position is in the Excepted Service. DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

  • OCONUS - Current or Former Federal Civilian Employees (includes current Air Force employees): You must submit a legible copy of a SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action.
  • The SF-50, block 24 must contain "1" or "2" and block 34 must be a"1".
  • Employees eligible under an OPM approved interchange agreement, block 34 may contain a "1" or "2".
  • NOTE: For OCONUS employees who claim eligibility MSP or Family Member Preference, your SF-50 may contain a "3" in block 24 and a "2" in block 34.
  • OPTIONAL DOCUMENTS: Performance Appraisals for Current Federal Civilian Employees - Most recent performance appraisals (dated within last 3 years) showing the official rating of record, signed by a supervisor, or statement why the performance appraisal is unavailable.
  • Awards for Current Federal Civilian employees - List any awards received within the last 3 years on the resume.
  • Note: Applicant must not submit award Notification of Personnel Actions (SF50s).
