About the role

The Supervisory Security Guard position is located at the Rosebud IHS Hospital, Rosebud, South Dakota. The Rosebud IHS Hospital has 35 beds and serves an approximate population of 16,000. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, improving and implementing the Security Program as well as managing the Motor Vehicle Management Program.

A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Specialized Experience: Planning and implementing security/protective programs, prepare security related reports and writing/updating department policies and procedures; Supervise security personnel, prepare staff schedules, assign work to staff and resolving staff complaints; Serve as a principle advisor on security related matters, patrolling grounds/buildings, and enforcing security rules and regulations.

Additional information

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service.

This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is ineligible for the Bargaining Unit. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized.
