About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Incumbent will serve as the Resident Engineer with direct responsibility for the successful prosecution of multimillion dollar construction contracts, and represents the district Engineer and Area Engineer in dealing with local governments and projects.

What you will do

• Conduct prework conferences and Quality Assurance ensuring construction activities are performed and documented in accordance with regulations.
• Review and approve the Contractor’s project progress schedules, pay estimates, and materials procurement.
• Interpret plans and specifications, as well as negotiate and execute contract modifications within warrant authority and appointment letter.
• Supervise, direct, assign and provide technical advice to coordinate work for professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
• These personnel are engaged in construction supervision and administration of the projects Responsible for the management and supervision of all assigned construction projects.
• Monitor contractor compliance with Safety Plan and Hazard Analysis during construction to minimize occurrences of job site accidents.
