About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as the Section Chief with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory program objectives.

What you will do

• Leads and supervises a Regulatory Section responsible for administering the USACE Regulatory Program within an assigned area.
• Plans, prioritizes, assigns, and reviews work to ensure timely, consistent, technically sound, and legally defensible decisions.
• Performs supervisory responsibilities including performance management, employee development, recognition, and addressing performance or conduct issues.
• Provides technical and programmatic leadership on complex, controversial, or high-visibility Regulatory matters.
• Interprets and implements applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures and makes decisions within delegated authority.
• Coordinates with leadership, applicants, Tribes, agencies, stakeholders, and other Regulatory sections to resolve issues, balance workload, and accomplish program priorities.
• Supports Division-wide initiatives and collaborates with other Section Chiefs and leadership to balance workload, share resources, develop staff, and accomplish District and national Regulatory Program priorities.

This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.

This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Student Loan Repayment MAY be authorized.
