About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 39th Signal Battalion, Chievres, Belgium.

The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months with possible extensions up to 5 years.

What you will do

• Serves as Strategic Signal Battalion Civilian Deputy Commander and the Network Enterprise Center Regional Director.
• Provides cyber strategy planning, policy, and advisory support in C4IM/IT, which involves creating enterprise framework for defining, evolving, evaluating and improving information management and cyber policy function across the region Oversees the delivery of required IM/IT services including communication and system support, video teleconferencing, cyber security, wireless services, and desk automation.
• Facilitates and leads the organization in identifying C4IM service requirements exceeding the 2d Theater Signal Brigade provided Army baseline.
• Provides oversight of programming, planning, and budgeting for common user c4IM Information Technology services and support for the region.

Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.

If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.

Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
