What you will do

• Serve as Chief, Mental Health Division, Directorate of Treatment Programs (DTP), Military Correctional Complex (MCC), consisting of the United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB) and Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility (JRCF).
• Responsible for developing clinical assessments, treatment plans, providing direct treatment for inmates with complex mental health diagnoses, and evaluating potential internal and external risks associated with behavioral health issues.
• Provide direct psychological services for many of the most complex, challenging clinical cases, including individual and group counseling.
• Provide emergency and on-call services.
• Plan, direct, and assign work to subordinates to include a subordinate supervisor based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on correctional health care for all subordinate staff and is instrumental in the development of correctional health care professionals through mentoring and training.
• Direct oversight for health care related standards required for compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Program and certification through the Department of Justice.

This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Employee must meet all transfer requirements for their respective retirement system on the date of the move to this secondary position to be entitled to remain covered under SRC. This position has been identified as a secondary position and has been approved for LEO special retirement coverage.

In order to qualify for secondary coverage, the incumbent must have 3 years of primary retirement coverage. IAW 28 C.R.R.
