About the role
This position is located in the Technical Training Standards Division (TTSD), Office of Data Analysis and Program Support, Office of Railroad Safety (RRS), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). The position of Railroad Safety Specialists Trainer in the Track discipline.
The trainer will provide technical training and development while also organizing training activities throughout the FRA.
What you will do

- Conduct planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of methodolgies to facilitate the accomplishment of internal training programs.
- Develop and provide technical guidance to Federal Railroad Administration personnel and relevant stakeholders on inspection programs, informational networking systems (internal and external), and rail safety training programs.
- Develop, recommend, implement, and evaluate understanding of policies to ensure effective, consistent, and responsive application in the Office of Railroad Safety.

- DRIVER'S LICENSE: Railroad Safety Specialist are required to possess a valid state driver's license at all times while employed by the Federal Rail Administration (FRA) in order to perform the duties of their positions.
- DRUG TEST: This position has been determined to be a critical safety/security position as defined in the Department of Transportation (DOT) Order, DOT 3910.1D entitled "Drug and Alcohol-Free Departmental Workplace." Therefore, if selected for the position you will be required to submit to a pre-employment/pre-appointment drug test, you will also be subject to Random Drug Testing.
- BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: You may be required to complete a background/security investigation and meet preliminary requirements prior to onboarding.
