About the role

About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Medical Center San Diego with the Intensive Care Unit. A recruitment or relocation incentive MAY BE authorized for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Salary negotiation MAY BE available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

What you will do

  • Administer prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed.
  • Assist in performing and managing medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterizations, and respiratory therapies, under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed medical practitioner.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of care provided and ensures adherence to established protocols which contributes to comprehensive patient health records.
  • Prepare patients, sets up necessary equipment, and maintains sterile environments.
  • Assist patients with mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs to promote comfort and recovery.

Additional information

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
