About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center - Department of Pediatrics in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

What you will do

• Perform independent comprehensive telephone and clinical triaging for walk-in patients to assess condition severity and determine the necessary level of provider intervention.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary care coordination, execute provider orders, screen medical history charts, and establish care priorities while tracking patient progress.
• Consult and instruct patients on self-care, self-medication, acute/chronic illness management, and preparation for procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications, assist providers with clinical procedures, and monitor pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patients.
• Assist with clinic staff orientation, evaluate and document nursing staff competencies, and ensure staff maintain required licenses and certifications.
• Conduct chart reviews, identify clinical trends, execute risk appraisals, and ensure staff compliance with hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You may be required as a condition of employment to take the series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. May include other immunizations that may be required for this position/for a position you may fill as an emergency essential alternate.

Failure to take immunizations may lead to your removal from position or separation from Federal service.

Position is considered essential to support DoDs mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. Position is considered emergency essential because (1) No qualified and immediate replacement exists; (2) having it vacant would/impair effective operation of essential military support system/adversely impact combat mission of deployed forces.
