About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 64, Storage Branch located in Fort Hood, Texas. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set.

What you will do

• Operate a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment such as generators, wheeled/track vehicles and semi-trailer combinations.
• Operate various types of forklifts and equipment to complete loading, unloading, warehousing, and preparing equipment and supplies for transport.
• Transport equipment that may be oversized or overweight.
• Ensure load weights are properly distributed and secured.
• Take oil samples and prepare them for shipment.
• Service vehicle braking systems and lights.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
• Receive incoming warehouse items and equipment and check them for damage and serviceability.
• Issues and stores equipment in the warehouse.
• Prepares various accountability documents and warehouse reports.

Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes local prevailing rate. When you perform a Civilian Permanent Change of Station (PCS) with the government, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) considers the majority of your entitlements to be taxable.

Recruitment, retention, and/or relocation incentive, advance in-hire rates, advanced leave accrual, and creditable service for leave accrual may be authorized when determined to be in the best interest of the government. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years.

With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
