About the Position: This position is located at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Fort Buchanan is located by Guaynabo City, Puerto Rico. It is near the capital of San Juan.

Puerto Rico boasts fabulous ocean views, tropical weather, and lush green mountains. The island is approximately 100 miles by 35 miles and similar in size to Connecticut.

What you will do

• Assists in planning overall leave schedules and recommends approval or disapproval of special leave requests.
• Interview or review applications of new applicants for jobs in the unit and recommend employment.
• Reviews new work orders and progress in completing current work.
• Determines the availability of workers with the needed skills to accomplish the work.
• Provides verbal and written reports on the status of work including any backlogs, the number of workers, and/or the kinds of skills being used.
• Requests authorization by higher supervisors of personnel, equipment, materials and tools which may be needed.
• Makes minor deviations in procedures and methods to overcome equipment failure or delays in receipt of materials.
• Indicates methods to be used and explains the more difficult technical requirements of the tasks to be performed.
• Helps in achieving difficult or unusual layout, setup, or other work steps and processes.

Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 2 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent DoDEA employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
