About the role

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a ITSPEC (SYSADMIN) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1618P01 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard.

What you will do

• As a IT Specialist (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-07/09/11, you will develop, modify, and test overall system backup and recovery strategies for assigned systems.
• Serve as a technical focal point for the installation and configuration of hardware and software on personal computers and for personal data assistants associated with assigned systems.
• Serve as a systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting in order to meet customer needs.
• Serve as a technical focal point on multiple operating systems and computer platforms.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to personnel involved in system design, programming, database design, and modifying commercially developed software.
• Analyze, evaluate, and recommend hardware/software changes to various computer systems.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-7- Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree1 full year of graduate level education GS09- Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.

GS11- Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

What to expect next
