About the role
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located with Headquarters U.S. European Command Special Operations Command in Stuttgart, Germany.

- Provide guidance to staff and subordinate commands on the interpretation and application of all aspects of National Disclosure Policy (NDP-1).
- Evaluate all proposals and requests for eligibility and impact on national security.
- Coordinate with other intelligence agencies and departments on intelligence briefings and products provided to senior foreign officials.
- Recommend policy directives to the commander, directors, special staff, and components in accordance with U.S., DoD, and Director Central Intelligence (DCI).
- Ensure decisions related to release and disclosure are in accordance with U.S., DoD, and Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) policy directives.
- Analyze procedures and anticipate results when making recommendations and decisions on specific disclosure requests.
- Liaise with national intelligence agencies and offices to ensure responsiveness to intelligence support needs.
- Coordinate extensively within command, joint staff and other entities in the intelligence communities Interpret appropriate guidelines to evaluate specific intelligence operations and situations.
- Develop and implement foreign disclosure policies and procedures.
- Advocate on behalf of the commander to higher headquarters when a proposal to disclose exceeds the disclosure criteria contained in NDP-1.
- Create consensus support from the interagency members and committee when requesting an exception to National Disclosure Policy.
- Advise command and staff when the release and disclosure of information is not consistent with U.S. foreign policy.

This is a Security and Intelligence Career Field position. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement of 33.94%. Subject to change.
