About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 64, Maintenance Branch located at Fort Hood, Texas. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set.

What you will do

• Perform complex repairs on heavy mobile equipment Perform repairs on various types of commercial, combat, tactical and automotive support equipment Provide guidance and advice to workers regarding proper maintenance procedures Provide information to supervisor in order to keep him/her abreast of current progress Pass on instructions from shop supervisor to other workers Delegate assignments by identifying immediate tasks to be performed Operate vehicles in order to check work of subordinates Check the progress of assignments for accuracy and compliance with supervisor’s instructions

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station.

To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment. As a team leader, you must comply with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements.

The Foundation Course (FC) must be completed within one year of placement into a leader position.

Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 1 year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
