About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 99th Readiness Division, Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) 31, located in Edgemont, Pennsylvania. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set.

What you will do

  • construction, industrial, combat, tactical, and powered support equipment.
  • Equipment may include bulldozers, graders, tractors, generators, forklifts, etc. Remove and replace major systems or components of equipment to include power packs, transmissions, transfers, gear reduction units, injector pumps, air conditioners, fuel pumps and alternators.
  • Make idle speed, current, brake, and transmission linkage adjustments.
  • Perform initial and in-process inspections; perform mechanical diagnostics and troubleshoot to localize defects and determine cause of malfunction; perform mechanical maintenance on defective parts; and perform minor body work.
  • Provide technical assistance to unit personnel.
  • Operate motor vehicles to perform the duties of this position.

New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment.

Recruitment, retention, and/or relocation incentive, advance in-hire rates, advanced leave accrual, and creditable service for leave accrual may be authorized when determined to be in the best interest of the government.
