What you will do

  • Responsible for properly digitizing design, selecting the proper color thread to reproduce colors indicated on guide, and ensuring final output matches requirements on blueprints.
  • Keeps design files organized on computer, USB stick.

  • Maintains machine daily; cleaning, changing needles as needed and oiling as required.
  • Responsible for producing custom designed military flags and certificates utilizing intricate hand and machine embroidery.

How you will be evaluated

The assessments for this job will measure the following Job Elements/Competencies: Ability to do the work of an Embroidery Digitizer/ Embroidery Machine Operator without more than normal supervision (SOE) Ability to Interpret Instructions Knowledge of Materials Knowledge of Equipment Assemble, Installation and Repair, etc. Measurement and Layout Once the application process is complete, we may review your résumé and supporting documents to ensure you meet the basic qualification requirements.

Based on the results of this evaluation, you will be placed in one of the following quality categories: Best-Qualified: This highest category will be used for those candidates who possess the type and quality of experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position, including all selective placement factors and appropriate quality ranking factor(s), as determined by the job analysis.

Highly-Qualified: This higher category will be used for those candidates who possess the type and quality of experience that exceed the minimum qualifications of the position, as determined by the job analysis.

Qualified: This lowest category will be used for those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications of the position and are proficient in some, but not all, of the requirements of the position. Candidates may require extensive training and/or orientation in order to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position.

Names of the candidates in the Best-Qualified category will be sent first to the hiring manager for employment consideration. Applicants in other categories will be referred in accordance with category rating procedures. What to expect next

The DoD criteria for hiring Reemployed Annuitants can be found at: *** Drug-Free Workplace Policy The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty.

DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing.

A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or FJO being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment.

You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position. The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.
