About the role

This position is part of the WAPA-SNR-Sierra Nevada Region. As an Electrical Engineer, you will serve within the Energy Management and Marketing Office, performing and coordinating complex power resources modeling, load forecasting, scheduling, and portfolio management.

What you will do

  • Accomplish short-term load forecasting for customers, taking into consideration historical load and projected demand information and any embedded renewable generation.
  • Execute Base Resource or marketed energy allocation through WAPA's business processes to serve power to preference customers.
  • Updates customer loads and allocations, purchase power information, and allocation of Base Resource or marketed energy exchanges.
  • Develop portfolio management strategies for wholesale electricity market transactions.
  • Evaluate historical load and projected demand information to develop energy payback schedules taking into consideration contract requirements.
  • Perform water and power resource modeling, planning, scheduling, and portfolio management for Federal load obligations.
  • Conduct development of models and scheduling systems enhancements for power resource planning, scheduling, and portfolio management.
  • Contribute in project team(s) made up of technical and functional experts; support development of milestones, project baselines and technical objectives, project and resource plans, cost and performance schedules, project accountability, tracking, reporting, and closure.
