What you will do

• As the Deputy Director, CDM, the incumbent provides essential guidance to the CDM Director on Department of War (DoW) and Department of the Air Force (DAF) intelligence plans, programs, and fiscal activities.
• This role involves maintaining an innovative and collaborative culture.
• It also involves conducting comprehensive program reviews, establishing strong program management, monitoring the implementation of approved programs, and delivering key policy recommendations to senior leadership.
• In addition, it requires the incumbent to identify, articulate and mitigate risks.
• The Deputy Director is instrumental in making strategic recommendations on program tradeoffs, systems integration, architecture consolidation, and operational methodologies.
• A key function is to identify and recommend the elimination of redundant and costly duplications, ensuring that strategic and tactical systems operations are both responsive and efficient.
• The incumbent advises on and directs the exploration and application of emerging technologies and advanced analytic tools to support the broader Defense Intelligence Enterprise.
• The Deputy Director, prepares and delivers critical justifications and presentations to a wide range of stakeholders, including the Director of Competitive Activities, the Secretary of the Air Force, the Under Secretary of War for Intelligence & Security (USD(I&S)), the national intelligence community, and the U.S. Congress.
• The Deputy Director fosters research and development, promotes robust coordination across the DoD, Air Force, and other Federal Agencies, and represents the Director in various inter-agency forums.
• This position requires synthesizing the technical, systematic, and resource aspects of complex programs, navigating competing interests, and employing persuasive techniques to advance national and DoD policies while ensuring equal employment opportunity is upheld within the organization.

Education

Education: A master's or advanced degree from an accredited institution is highly desired. An undergraduate technical degree or an advanced degree in either a technical or management field is highly desired.

Failure to meet any one of the Mandatory Technical or Executive Core Qualifications standards will eliminate a candidate from further consideration.

Candidates will be evaluated for this position by a screening panel composed of senior executives and/or general officers selected for organizational and/or functional backgrounds relevant to this position. The panel discusses each application and reaches consensus as to the Best Qualified, Qualified or Not Qualified candidates.

Only the Best Qualified candidates will be interviewed. The panel will then make a recommendation of those Best Qualified candidates who should be referred to the selecting official, in priority order. Final selection is contingent upon approval of the Under Secretary of the Air Force.
