About the Position: As a Deckhand assigned to the Mat Sinking Unit, you will be assigned to accomplish a combination of tasks in connection with the making up and breaking of tows. -The duty location will be wherever the Mat Sinking Unit or Tender Harrison is located. -This position is a Permanent, Full-Time, Seasonal Appointment. -The position is advertised externally under Vacancy CEDC-26-13060253-DHA Two positions located in MSU Maintenance and one position located on the Tender Harrison.

What you will do

• Secure floating plant with manila and synthetic lines, cables, wire straps, rachets, etc. Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks such as washing down decks, chip-ping paint and rust from bulkheads, timber heads, cavels, deck equipment, and painting.
• Greasing moving deck equipment such as capstans, tow winch, or electric cranes to ensure working condition.
• Assisting other craftsmen with maintenance and repairs.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. This position is Non-Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act.
