About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DOD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This is a Civil Engineer, GS-0810-12 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, Port Arthur Resident Office located in Port Arthur, TX A recruitment/relocation incentive MAY be offered. See Additional information section for more information.

What you will do

• Review requests for modifications to original design to make recommendations.
• Review contractors shop drawings for construction projects to make recommendations.
• Initiate modifications due to conditions encountered during the construction process.
• Administer contracts related to construction or maintenance to ensure projects are completed.
• Perform negotiations with contractors for settlement or dispute resolution over contract requirements.
• Review construction contractor progress schedules for adequacy or completeness.

A RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION INCENTIVE OF UP TO 25% OF THE BASE SALARY, MAY BE OFFERED, DEPENDING ON FUNDING AVAILABILITY AND MANAGEMENT DISCRETION.

AN INCENTIVE MUST BE REQUESTED BY SELECTED APPLICANT AT TIME OF THE TENTATIVE JOB OFFER AND APPROVED PRIOR TO HIRE.
