About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with the Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, Engineering and Construction Division,Galveston Resident Office, and located in Galveston, TX.

What you will do

• Review final contract specifications for adherence to intent of design drawings for construction or dredging projects.
• Perform site visits to determine the feasibility of proposed designs for construction or dredging projects.
• Review contractor shop drawings to make recommendations for construction or dredging projects.
• Prepare contract modifications packet for changes submitted to plans and specifications.
• Interpret plans for modifications to ensure modifications stay in line with original design intent for construction or dredging projects.
• Negotiate with contractors on extent of contract changes or costs.

A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive of up to 25% of the Base Salary, MAY be offered, depending on funding availability and management discretion.
