About the role

This position is located in Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Specialty Crops Program (SCP), Specialty Crops Inspection (SCI) Division, Business Management Services (BMS). The incumbent serves as an advisor and assistant on the administration of SCI programs providing expert advice and guidance on broad projects and programs with national impact.

What you will do

  • Assists in providing division-wide management analysis and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develops, revises, and implementation of policies, procedures, and instructional guidance for nationwide SCI operations.
  • Actively participates with Management on issues involving organizational development, position management, and personnel needs.
  • Provides technical guidance to Field Support Branch staff in the development and execution of the nationwide inspection, auditing and certification for fresh and processed fruits and related products.
  • Works closely with officials from other organizations in effectively dealing with the various Division programs.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts analytical studies to identify and examine program, administrative, and resource management trends and problem areas.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned and undertakes other additional duties without adversely affecting proficiency on primary workload or the quality of work products.
