About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA to meet Critical Hiring Needs for recruitment and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as an Utility Systems Repairer - Operator (Motor Vehicle Operator) with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC

What you will do

• Operates, maintains and performs miscellaneous repairs of boilers and associated equipment to ensure medium-temperature hot water (MTW) production at adequate quantities, pressures, and temperatures.
• Operates, maintains and performs miscellaneous repairs of centrifugal chillers and associated equipment to ensure chilled water (CHW) production at adequate quantities, pressures, and temperatures.
• Operates and maintains the Energy Management Control System (EMCS) which monitors and controls the mechanical equipment.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances MAY be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. Recruitment and relocation incentives MAY be authorized.

Student loan repayment MAY be authorized. Salary negotiations for candidates new to Federal service MAY be authorized. Credit for prior non-Federal experience and certain military service for leave accrual rates MAY be authorized.
