About the role
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1193000 and is part of the KY SMO, National Guard. ***NOTE: This is an open and continuous job announcement. See more information in the Additional Information section below.***
What you will do
- As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER - TITLE 32, WG-5801-8, you will troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.
- Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul major systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures.
- Remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and systems.
- Independently perform repairs and maintenance functions by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems.
- Conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform operational inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced.
- May maintain and repair equipment to include removing and replacing components and elements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
