About the role

This job opportunity is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER position, position description D1193000, within the ((ALL) FMS-CSMS-UTES SHOPS)) of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

The purpose of this position is to perform limited diagnosis, routine repairs, and maintenance on combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment. May assist higher graded mechanics in the performance of maintenance duties.

  • Areas of Consideration: All New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, and Drill-Status Guardsmen) Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey ARMY National Guard Military Grades: E-1 to E-6 Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support.
  • (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Additional Requirements Participation in direct deposit is mandatory Appointment is contingent upon Federal suitability review and background investigation May be required to successfully complete a probationary period For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license
