SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR - TITLE 32

About the role

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, Position Description Number D1291000 located in the Joint Force Headquarters, Marietta, Georgia. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Open to current members of the Army National Guard.

What you will do

• Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
• Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.
• Ensure work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a Quality Control and Assurance program within the organization.
• Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment.
• Implement and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements.
• Develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised.
• Initiate recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates.
• Manage maintenance backlog through coordination with other maintenance activities.
• Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors.
• Assist the supervisor with quarterly funding distribution and decisions, based on operational needs for units supported by customer activities.
• Review funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocates funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
