THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER T32, Position Description Number D2127000 and is part of the AZ SMM, National Guard.

What you will do

  • CSMS, FMS1 & FMS7 Phoenix, AZ and UTES, FMS 4 Florence, AZ.
  • The purpose of this position is to serve as a working leader of three or more Surface Maintenance Mechanics, WG-5801-10.
  • Performs mechanic duties involving maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and/or overhaul of a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment.
  • Provides technical subordinate guidance and group leadership to employees on the team.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics): 1. Ability to use a wide variety of test and diagnostics equipment to perform fault isolation and repairs of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles and organizational equipment. 2.

Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles and equipment. 3. Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple maintenance work orders, and direct work based on priority and mechanic skill level.

4. Ability to use GCSS-Army to run and analyze reports, research supply transactions, and update work orders. 5.

Knowledge to oversee the repair or overhaul of major components and complex systems in a support maintenance shop. 6. Ability to train lower grade mechanics on diagnostic techniques and proper repair procedures.

7. Ability to apply safety and environmental programs at the user level in a shop environment. 8.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with other shop sections, supervisors, and customers.
