About the role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed.

What you will do
- Answer questions, resolves unusual situations, and provides overall guidance on all specimen-processing policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of memorandums explaining deviations from Standard Operating Procedures that are required for legal documentation purposes.
- Provide advice to laboratory management on proposed changes in procedures in order to improve laboratory services.
- Perform mutual quality control checks on the work of fellow Specimen Controllers on a daily basis.
- Perform technical and administrative support functions necessary for successful unit mission accomplishment.
- Perform the full range of supervisory duties for a staff of 8-11 employees at the GS-06 and GS-07 level.
- Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for the completion of work.
- Assure production and accuracy requirements are met.
- Apply the pertinent laws and regulations to coordinate workflow with other sections of the laboratory.
