About the role
This position serves as Director of Pharmacy Services, or Chief Pharmacist, for the Crow Service Unit, and provides managerial and administration program direction of the Pharmacy Program to support the mission of the Indian Health Services.
The position is responsible for the total operation of the service unit's pharmacy services and serves approx. 14,000 Native American and Alaska Natives. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

- Clinical - Develops and maintains general, specialized and sub-specialized clinical pharmacy services that are synergistic with other service unit programs, promote clinical economics and optimize patient outcomes.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service.
This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is ineligible for the Bargaining Unit. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized.
