About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center within the Orthopedic Surgery Department in Tacoma, Washington. A relocation or recruitment incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

What you will do

• Provide general oversight and nursing expertise for department nursing assets.
• Identify developmental and training needs of employees, provide and/or arrange development and training.
• Review and update nursing policies and standard operating procedures for nursing support staff.
• Coordinate with other healthcare team members to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinic operations, ensuring multidisciplinary health needs and readiness needs are met.
• Assess preventative health and chronic disease management needs of clinics.
• Develop process integration between the division and all related pre- and post-operative hospital entities and other Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Services.

This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You may be required as a condition of employment to take the series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters.

Failure to take immunizations may lead to your removal from position or separation from Federal service.

Position is considered essential to support DoDs mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. Position is considered emergency essential because (1) No qualified and immediate replacement exists; (2) having it vacant would/impair effective operation of essential military support system/adversely impact combat mission of deployed forces.
