About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Fort Huacuca, AZ.

What you will do

• Supervises 20-40 technical civilian, military, and contractor personnel, managing workloads, performance, and personnel actions.
• Develops and promulgates engineering guidance and technical direction in support of assigned C4IT system integration, development, testing, security, and sustainment Evaluates contractor performance and quality control, resolving technical execution issues through the COR.
• Directs rapid service restoration for critical network/System outages, implementing immediate workarounds and permanent engineered fixes.
• Leads strategic dispute resolution and makes authoritative engineering decisions regarding legacy integration and network modernization.
• Prepares final technical reports and briefings encompassing pertinent analysis, conclusions, and recommendations for worldwide Army information systems and networks.

Education

Basic Requirement for Computer Scientist GG-1550: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in computer science or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that includes total information systems engineering in the design, implementation, operation, integration, testing, securing, and sustainment of IT systems and networks; Developing technical analyses of preliminary and detailed systems design inclusive of overall system/network architecture; Reviews and analyzes user operational requirements for technical definition and evaluates performance/cost trade-off in the determination of system design; Plans operational/change testing of systems and equipment installed to insure conformance with user requirements.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
