About the position: Serves as Resident Engineer with the responsibility for the resident office management and supervision for construction of all projects assigned to that Resident Engineer field office. This includes a variety of "custom-built" facilities, Civil Works structures to include bridges, Military construction projects, Superfund, and beach replenishment projects.

What you will do

  • Serve as Resident Engineer with overall responsibility for the management, coordination, and execution of a diverse construction program (including civil works, military construction, and environmental remediation projects).
  • Supervise and directs a multi-disciplinary technical and administrative field office staff, performing the full range of personnel management, resource planning, and performance evaluation duties.
  • Serve as the lead field manager on the Project Delivery Team, using the Resident Management System (RMS) to track progress and partner with stakeholders, designers, and contractors to resolve construction issues.
  • Oversee the Quality Assurance (QA) program to ensure contract compliance, reviewing contractor Quality Control (QC) plans, checking technical submittals, and evaluating materials and workmanship.
  • Conducts final inspections of completed projects, makes official recommendations for the acceptance or rejection of contractor work, and manages the post-construction warranty program.

This announcement uses the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
