What you will do

• The Supervisory Diversion Investigator (Group Supervisor) position is open in the following locations: Hartford - Rocky Hill CT - New England Division Camden - Maple Shade, NJ - New Jersey, Division Central Islip - Long Island, NY - New York Division Baltimore, MD - Washington Division Chicago, IL - Chicago Division Milwaukee, WI - Chicago Division Cleveland, OH - Detroit Division Grand Rapids, MI-Detroit Division Oklahoma City, OK - Dallas Division Fort Worth, TX - Dallas Division San Antonio, TX - San Antonio Division The incumbent will perform such duties as: Supervising an investigative or administrative program or a major segment of such program; plan, coordinate, and oversee investigations; and assign investigations selectively based on their complexity, scope, and the investigator's experience.
• Supervising three or more investigators engaged in conducting investigations of the manufacture, importation, trafficking, and diversion of legitimate pharmaceutical drugs and listed chemicals to illegal channels.
• Manage overall aspects of the investigation and monitor investigator's progress and activities, including the development and preparation of witnesses for legal proceedings and testifying in legal proceedings, as required.
• Performing investigative duties of exceptional difficulty or of the highest sensitivity and importance ensuring all investigations are conducted within the scope of Federal drug laws and are in accordance with the agency's rules, policies, and regulations.
• Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with Federal, State, and local agencies, the registrant community, and other contacts, and lecture at training seminars for Federal, State, and local officials and DEA registrant community representatives.

Your promotion eligibility will be evaluated based on the DI Career Progression Guide criteria: GS14 must serve three to four years in a domestic office as a GS-14 DI before being considered for another field supervisory position (domestic/foreign). GS14 promoted into HQ - must serve a minimum of three years before they can transfer to the field to complete field tour.

GS14 promoted to a Foreign position - must complete their foreign tour; required to fulfill minimum of two years in domestic office prior to rotation to HQ. GS14 HQ employees only: can apply 90 days prior to the completion of the DEA HQs three-year assignment; if selected; reporting date would be no earlier than the completion of the three-year assignment.
