JOB SUMMARY: Plan, monitor, develop, and deliver classroom, hands-on, and field-based/on-the-job training (OJT) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives. Ensure that employees receive effective training and are motivated to deliver the highest quality of service possible. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops and delivers classroom, hands-on, and field-based/on-the-job training (OJT) using established instructional standards, methods, and approved training programs. Manages all aspects of training delivery, including preparation of materials, classrooms, equipment, and field/OJT training environments. Conducts field/OJT activities including hands-on demonstrations, coaching, observation, practical assessments, and documentation of employee performance and training progress in accordance with approved programs and assigned authority. Acts as project leader and subject matter expert in developing training content. Supervises and mentors Network Instructors and temporary instructional staff. Guides new employees on organizational and operational processes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Plus 3 years of relevant work experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Plus 5 years of relevant work experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Skilled in leadership and management, adept at motivating teams. Strong abilities in writing, presenting, facilitating meetings, and interpersonal communication. Excellent time management, conflict resolution, and investigative skills. Demonstrated experience in effective internal and external communication, both oral and written. Ability to effectively demonstrate, coach, observe, and evaluate employee performance in classroom, hands-on, and field training environments. The salary/hourly range is $78,600.00 – $101,844.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position. In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for providers of public transportation (Title 6 U.S.C. §1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses. Note that any education requirement listed above may be deemed satisfied if you have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
