About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct occupational therapy evaluation and treatment, education, and consultation for inpatients and outpatients (regular work week) of all ages with a variety of conditions to improve the health and well-being of patients through the prevention and treatment of disease, disability, and injury.

What you will do
- Provides comprehensive speech-language pathology services to pediatric and adult patients with complex communication, swallowing, feeding, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders.
- Performs Modified Barium Swallowing (MBS), Clinical Bedside Swallowing Studies, videofluoroscopy, and other diagnostic and instrumental assessments.
- Evaluates and treats feeding disorders and recommends preventive, remedial, therapeutic, or non-oral feeding approaches when clinically appropriate.
- Provides treatment for speech, language, voice, resonance, fluency, swallowing, feeding, and cognitive-communication disorders.
- Fits and adjusts voice prostheses and other therapeutic devices, including devices for post-surgical head and neck cancer patients.
- Develops and implements augmentative and alternative communication systems and technologies for patients with severe communication impairments or who are non-vocal.
- Counsels patients and family members regarding communication and swallowing disorders, treatment needs, and associated emotional and functional concerns.
- Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program for Speech Pathology services.
