About the role

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Food and Beverage; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Station Everett - All American Restaurant.

What you will do

  • Performs a variety of tasks such as grilling or frying pancakes, hamburger, bacon, eggs, sausage, by watching while the items are cooking, turning as required; regulation temperature and removing when done.
  • Measures and weighs ingredients according to recipes or as directed in the preparation of salads, desserts, juices, fruit trays, etc. Prepares toast, salads, salad dressing, and sandwiches.
  • Prepares vegetables and fruits for serving according to instructions and / or recipes.
  • Place cooked food in serving dishes in steam carts and food trucks.
  • Washes and cleans kitchen equipment and work area.
  • Keep refrigerators, grills, equipment and working area clean.
  • May be required to collect money, operate a cash register and prepare necessary documentation for cash funds accountability.
  • May assist in inventory taking.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Work involves light to moderate physical effort such as frequently lifting or moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds, constantly standing, walking, reaching and occasionally lifting up to 45 pounds.
  • Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
  • Requires irregular working hours which may include early shift, late shift, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Incumbent must have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate.
