About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Term not to exceed two year position. The U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) handles the day-to-day operations of Army installations.

What you will do

• Perform security guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage.
• Enforce the security regulations of the installation.
• Control access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation.
• Verify identification through use of identification cards, badges, biometrics automated records, verbal questioning, and other means.
• Admit persons, denies entry or arranges for escorts, as appropriate.
• Conduct vehicle searches and inspections.
• Conduct foot or vehicle patrol of perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas.

Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. When you perform a Civilian Permanent Change of Station (PCS) with the government, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) considers the majority of your entitlements to be taxable.

Student loan repayment MAY be authorized. Salary negotiations for candidates new to Federal service MAY be authorized. Credit for prior non-Federal experience and certain military service for leave accrual rates MAY be authorized.

Employee shifts are based on mission requirements that are identified after certification requirements for the position are met. Shifts are not negotiated during the hiring process. Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE TWO years.

Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
