This flyer will be used as positions become available. About the Position: Serve as a Security Guard with the Directorate of Emergency Services at Fort Riley, Kansas.

What you will do

• The incumbent serves as a Security Guard assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
• This position functions as the first layer of defense in a security-in-depth concept to deter, detect, delay, assess, respond, and document unauthorized access to Army installations restricted to the general public.
• Guards are responsible for preserving the life, health and safety of government personnel and safeguarding Army property, and technologies against such threats.
• Guards determine fitness and grant access to those individuals that have met screening requirements and demonstrated a need to access the installation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

This announcement uses the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. Recruitment and relocation incentives may authorized.

Student loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiations for those candidates who are new to Federal service may authorized. Credit for Prior Non-Federal Work Experience and Certain Military Service for Determining Annual Leave Accrual Rate may be authorized.
