About the role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP),a student loan payment reimbursement program.

You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.Program Approval, award amount(up to $200,000) & eligibility period(one to five years)are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

  • Duties: The Diamond Clinic Nurse Manager is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed.
  • Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance.
  • A role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
  • Equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Cultivate alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence based cutting-edge programs/processes.
  • Adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels.
  • Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
  • Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Responsible to the assigned rating and approving supervisors and is accountable to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS).
  • Leads initiatives to improve Veteran/patient experience, satisfaction and/or safety beyond the immediate practice setting.
  • Communicates and collaborates as an effective leader of the interprofessional team, at the expert level, with improved evidence-based and/or data-driven outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.
  • Leads the identification and integration of evidence based practice/research with clinical expertise to improve quality of care and resource utilization at the expert level with improved outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.

Requirements

EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) must be recognized by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by either of the following accrediting agencies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) OR The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) ACEN or CCNE program or degree accreditation may also be found under the U.S. Department of Education NOTES: Department of Education: Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.

What to expect next

HCP are individuals who, during the influenza season, work in VHA locations or who come into contact with VA patients or other HCP as part of their duties. VHA locations include, but are not limited to, VA hospitals and associated clinics, community living centers (CLCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), domiciliary units, Vet centers and VA-leased medical facilities.

HCP include all VA licensed and unlicensed, clinical and administrative, remote and onsite, paid and without compensation, full- and part-time employees, intermittent employees, fee basis employees, VA contractors, researchers, volunteers and health professions trainees (HPTs) who are expected to perform any or all of their work at these facilities.

HPTs may be paid or unpaid and include residents, interns, fellows and students. HCP also includes VHA personnel providing home-based care to Veterans and drivers and other personnel whose duties put them in contact with patients outside VA medical facilities.
