This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for USACE for Real Estate Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: As Deputy Chief of the Real Estate Division, you will share with the Chief in managing and supervising all aspects of the Realty Division' programs and functions; having complete authority to act for the Chief in all matters affecting the organization.
What you will do

- Publicly speaks with authority on matters of technical or public relations importance explaining proposed projects and other matters relating to the activities of the District.
- Attends and participates in coordination conferences with representatives of higher headquarters; other districts, divisions or Federal agencies; municipal governments; political interests; contractors; industry; and others.
- Selects subordinate supervisory personnel (in accordance with current Corps of Engineers guidance) for placement and promotion.
- Counsels employees on matters and problems that have a potential effect on their work and resolves complaints from subordinate supervisors and other employees.
- Exercises delegated personnel management authority personally and through subordinate supervisors to plan for future workload, request additional resources, and achieve optimum organizational simplicity and economy.
