About the role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

- Essential Administrative (Management) Responsibilities: The incumbent is assigned to administrative responsibility for clinical program development and is accountable for clinical program effectiveness and modification of service patterns.
- Assignments include: Leading morning huddle and weekly treatment team meetings for the BHIP operations, utilizing data from relevant dashboards and data sources.
- Monitoring new veteran and within team consults to ensure care coordination Ensuring same-day access to care goals are achieved for the team Leading implementation and efficient use of all tele-mental health resources for clinic mental health providers Developing and implementing strategies for seamless transitions between Primary Care and Mental Health Other administrative duties may be assigned by supervisor or mental health leadership Supervisory Controls While functioning as an independent professional, the incumbent is under the direct supervision of the BHIP Supervisor for their BHIP location (BHIP Dublin, BHIP South or BHIP Central) and receives clinical, administrative guidance/mentoring as it relates to psychotherapy practice and BHIP implementation in the mental health service line.
- Customer Service Meets the needs of customers (Veterans, visitors, volunteers, and all medical center staff) while supporting the medical center and service missions.
- Consistently communicates and treats customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
- Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer with professionalism and tact.
- Age-Specific Criteria The primary age of veterans requiring care by staff working in the MHSL cover the entire adult age range including younger veterans between the ages of 18-65 years of age and older Veterans at the geriatric level, i.e., 65 years of age or older.
- The position requires the incumbent to possess or develop an understanding of the particular needs of these types of p veterans.
- Sensitivity to the special needs of all veterans in respect to age, developmental requirements, and culturally related factors must be consistently achieved.

HCP are individuals who, during the influenza season, work in VHA locations or who come into contact with VA patients or other HCP as part of their duties. VHA locations include, but are not limited to, VA hospitals and associated clinics, community living centers (CLCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), domiciliary units, Vet centers and VA-leased medical facilities.
HCP include all VA licensed and unlicensed, clinical and administrative, remote and onsite, paid and without compensation, full- and part-time employees, intermittent employees, fee basis employees, VA contractors, researchers, volunteers and health professions trainees (HPTs) who are expected to perform any or all of their work at these facilities.
HPTs may be paid or unpaid and include residents, interns, fellows and students. HCP also includes VHA personnel providing home-based care to Veterans and drivers and other personnel whose duties put them in contact with patients outside VA medical facilities.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.
This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
